Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is convinced Manchester United's firepower has been on the wane this season.
Pulis, ahead of tomorrow's final day clash at Old Trafford, believes United have suffered without Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"The loss of Tévez and Ronaldo has obviously affected their potency, in respect to goals," Pulis said. "But they're going into the last game still in with a chance. And people tend to forget Owen got injured as well. I still think a fit Michael Owen would have helped the cause. Wayne has come up to the mark. He's a top player.
"Rooney's our great hope for the World Cup. If Rooney has an outstanding World Cup, England have got a real chance. He's that important to England.
"Sir Alex would say it's in Chelsea's hands. United have still got to do their job but it's in Chelsea's hands. United and Chelsea have been the two outstanding teams again this year. If Chelsea get one more, they'll deserve it. They've been neck and neck all season so they're there on merit."
