Stoke City boss Tony Pulis hopes Ryan Shawcross is capped by England this week.

Pulis was delighted with his team's 0-0 draw with Liverpool. Speaking after the game, Pulis was effusive in his praise for his side, especially star defender Shawcross.

"He's a top player, and a top kid," he said. "I just hope he comes back with an England cap.

"They'll be a lot of Stoke fans going down on Friday night hoping he gets some time on the pitch."
