Tony Pulis is still hopeful of bring some new faces to the Britannia Stadium. The Stoke chief has made it known he would like "four or five" signings during the close season, but also wants value for money.
This has led to him being linked with a number of players including Peter Crouch, Cameron Jerome, Scott Dann, and Wilson Palacios amongst others.
"We've been linked with everybody but we'll try and do our business with other football clubs and you hope things will drop for you."
The stock of Ryan Shawcross has not gone unnoticed outside the Britannia Stadium with the top clubs said to be taking a note of his progress.
Pulis, however, has insisted he is not for sale.
"We won't sell our best young players. We don't have to. We're a club that is solvent. We think this is a good football club that can push on," he added.
"Fingers crossed more young players will want to join us."
