Stoke boss Pulis hands ex-Crewe winger Marshall debut

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis handed former Crewe winger Ben Marshall his debut in yesterday's draw with Nottingham Forest.

Pulis was able to blood youngsters Ryan Shotton at right back and sub Marshall out wide, and told The Sentinel: "Ryan did smashing and we have been really pleased with him pre-season.

"Ben has got a long way to go to get into the team, but he's got potential and that's why we signed him."
