Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has revealed Arsenal fans have sent messages of support to Ryan Shawcross since last week's tackle left Aaron Ramsey with a broken leg.
Pulis said his player has received 300 messages of support from Arsenal fans, who saw Shawcross leave the field in tears after being sent off for the challenge on Ramsey in Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash at the Britannia Stadium.
He revealed: "Ryan has had nigh on 300 emails from Arsenal supporters sympathising with him and his reaction coming off the pitch. I think that's absolutely fantastic when people get slaughtered at times.
"The attitude of the Arsenal supporters has been brilliant. And the England players have been fantastic. Steven Gerrard, apparently, has been exceptional and, as captain, has really looked after him.
"People like Wayne Rooney and David Beckham have been brilliant, and Shawcross will be the first to say how much help he's had from the players.
"They are human beings and they know he is new to the squad, irrespective of what happened on Saturday, and that he will need some help."
