Stoke boss Pulis: Every competition priority for us

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis says they're going for the lot this season.

Pulis sprang a surprise by fielding a strong side for City's third-round Carling Cup victory over Tottenham three weeks ago.

But he's keen to keep that approach in every competition, particularly after City reached the FA Cup final last season for the first time in their 148-year history.

He told The Sentinel: "We are really pleased with how we have started, especially as we have had a spell of playing matches every three days.

"The other thing to remember is every one of those games have been big matches ... we got Tottenham in the Carling Cup and now we've got Liverpool in the next round.

"Some clubs in the Premier League have only played half the games we have. But I want to try to be as competitive as I can in the cup competitions. The Premier League is the most important thing, but I want to have a crack at the cups.

"Having got to Wembley last season, it would be great to get a little bit of luck and do well in the cups again."
