Stoke City boss Tony Pulis says winger Matthew Etherington deserves an England call-up.
Of the 11 goals Stoke have scored in all competitions this season, Etherington has claimed a hand in nine of them - four via crosses, four from corners and one from a free-kick.
"Matty has been brilliant for us this season and built on the great form he showed last year," said Pulis.
"He set the bar high after winning the player-of-the-year award, but the statistics show exactly what impact he's been making since.
"His form has been England class this season.
"It's not just his quality on the ball, but his exceptional work-rate. It's up to Fabio Capello where England is concerned, but I know what I would do."
