Stoke boss Pulis delighted for Reid over Plymouth job

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is delighted for his former No2 Peter Reid over his new job with Plymouth Argyle.

While Pulis is understandably disappointed to be losing someone of the stature of Reid, he says he certainly goes with the best wishes of himself and everyone else at the Football Club.

"Peter has been really keen to get back into management for some time and have a go again, and this is a great opportunity for him," Pulis, who had a spell as boss at Home Park, told Stoke's website.

"We had an agreement with Peter that if a job came along he really fancied, we wouldn't stand in his way. When this one came up, he asked me about it and I told him it was a great club. I do think there is enormous potential at Plymouth.

"If clubs like Blackpool, Burnley and Hull can get into the Premier League, as they have done over the last few years, there is no reason why Plymouth can't do it if they get things going down there."
