Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has slammed the use of Twitter after Peter Crouch's burglary.
Crouch was spotted at North Staffordshire General Hospital on Monday after suffering with headaches.
News of Crouch's visit hit Twitter and a fans' website message board.
And 24 hours later, when the 6ft 7in ace was due back in hospital for more tests, intruders stole £100,000 worth of goods from his Cheshire home.
"It's not just the player's security, it's the wives and girlfriends as well. How do you stop it? I don't know.
"Social networking is new to me and it's something I still can't get my head around.
"I'm happy he'll be all right for Boxing Day, I'd be surprised if he wasn't."Pulis said: "We don't want people being alerted as to a player's whereabouts.
