Stoke City boss Tony Pulis admits they'll be active in the January market.
"We have one or two players out there who we've earmarked," Pulis told The Sentinel. "If we have a bit of fortune in the window then those players could come to this club and make a big difference."
Pulis added: "We missed out on maybe five players that we honestly thought we would get to this football club. For all different reasons we just couldn't do it.
"We spoke to the players, the agents and the clubs and honestly thought we had the deals done, but at that time they just didn't want to come to Stoke City.
"The main reason is that, when we got promoted, I don't think many people thought we would be successful. We will have to wait and see now. I think the players and supporters have put this club on the map. Everybody is talking about us.
"It might help, but you never know. Players sometime baffle me, but we will do our best."
