Stoke boss pleased with battling draw at Wolves

Tony Pulis paid tribute to his Stoke players for not relaxing despite being safe from relegation. The Potters played out a hard-fought goalless draw with Wolves at Molineux on Sunday.

Pulis was satisfied to come away with a draw against a team still embroiled in the scrap for survival.

"We are pleased to keep a clean sheet and I think we had the best opportunities of the game," Pulis told Sky Sports.

"It was a tough game, a local derby, and Wolves are fighting for their lives, so it was a well contested game."

Stoke have known for a few weeks they are likely to be safe this season and are now closing in on the 45-point total they accrued in the whole of last term.

"Obviously the first target was to get to 40 points, and then to beat last year's tally," he explained.

"If we get past that, then it'll be to get as many points as we possibly can.

"I think you have seen the attitude of the players today. They have come here and given it a right go, and that is what we have to do.

"When you get safe the lads could get their shorts and flip-flops on and go down to the beach, but the chairman still pays them and the supporters still pay on the terraces to watch, so they have a responsibility to give it the best they possibly can and they have done that today."
