Stoke boss Paul Lambert delighted with Huddersfield win

Stoke City boss Paul Lambert oversaw a first win since his appointment with victory over Huddersfield Town.

The Potters won 2-0.

Xherdan Shaqiri saw an acrobatic effort ruled out for offside early in the second half, before Joe Allen put the Potters ahead on 53 minutes. Mame Biram Diouf made it 2-0 on 69 minutes as Stoke moved out of the bottom three and above Southampton.

Asked how he felt when he first arrived for his first post-match press conference, he exclaimed: “Tired!"

He continued: “I'm delighted for the players and supporters, that was my main concern. From the moment I came to the club, it was about supporters and players and they bounced off each other.

“You can't hear yourself shout at times. Even in training, I couldn't ask for any more.

“If they (players and fans) stick together and we play that way, we might not win every game, but if we keep that level of intensity, we will be fine."
