Stoke City boss Mark Hughes was satisfied with Jack Butland's comeback for defeat at Swansea City.
Hughes declared himself pleased with Butland's return to competitive action some 13 months after breaking his ankle playing for England.
"Jack did ok. It's important for him and for us that we know he's sound leading into next year.
"The next few weeks we will give him more than just one or two games at the end.
"It's important we know he's ready to go into pre-season and it's no reflection on Lee (Grant)."
