Stoke City boss Paul Lambert says Stephen Ireland will get a chance under him.

Ireland started his first league game since 2015 on Monday night at Manchester United and Lambert insists there is no outstanding problem after letting him leave Aston Villa for Stoke City.

“I never had a problem with Stephen," Lambert stressed.

“The thing about Stephen is he's a very talented footballer and you need to get the consistency."
