Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed new contract talks with Andy Wilkinson.

Wilkinson comes off contract in June.

"We would like Andy to stay," he affirmed.

"He typifies the Stoke attitude, he's a local guy and represents the fabric of the club.

"He's one of those players who has real empathy with the club and it's important you keep them close to you."
