Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is coy over whether Bruno Martins Indi will face Tottenham.
Hughes says an immediate debut is no foregone conclusion with the beefy defender playing so little football since the end of last season.
“He's a high-level player, a good personality and really focused," Hughes said of the 24 year-old Dutch international.
“He wants to get back playing again. He went out of the Porto side once they knew he wasn't going to sign. It wasn't down to a lack of form or ability, it was the circumstances of his contract - they weren't prepared to let him run it down.
“As a consequence, we've been able to bring a good player in, but he hasn't played a lot of football and so we might have to wait a while for him to get up to speed.
“We'll make a call on that for weekend, but he's very much in my thoughts."
