Stoke boss Hughes wants Arnautovic to shoot on sight

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has implored Marko Arnautovic to try his luck on goal more often.

The Austrian forward scored with a searing shot in the 26th minute of the Potters' 2-0 home win over Manchester United on Saturday which has prompted Hughes to urge him to produce more of the same such are his capabilities from long range.

"We tell him until we are blue in the face to shoot more, to be perfectly honest, because he has great power," he told Stoke Player.

"Maybe that (goal) will encourage him. He had a number of chances. He could have scored more.

"In terms of clear-cut chances, we were well ahead of United and deserved the win."

Arnautovic has now scored six goals in 17 Premier League appearances for Stoke this season.
