Stoke boss Hughes unimpressed by Tottenham's Sandro social media post

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has hit out at the social behavior of Tottenham midfielder Sandro.

Sandro, the self-style "Beast" of White Hart Lane, posted a picture of himself on Instagram earlier this week carrying the message: "Charlie Adam - the beast is watching you."

Hughes described Sunday's challenge on Paulinho as "innocuous", and added: "I was disappointed it went to a disciplinary panel as the referee (Kevin Friend) was two yards away from it.

"Apparently he said he didn't see it. I was disappointed as the referee should have seen it was a genuine attempt to win the ball.

"We don't appreciate some of their players Twittering on their own sites about 'Waiting for Charlie'. I think that has the potential for a disrepute charge in itself, so we'll see if that's responded to."

Hughes, who hinted at a possible complaint to the FA, dismissed suggestions that Adam had any kind of grudge against Spurs following the earlier controversies.

"Absolutely not," he stormed. "Why would he? It doesn't make sense.

"But there's a lot of good players who couldn't tackle."
