Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has stated that he is not worried about the ultimatum handed to him by club chairman Peter Coates.
Hughes seemed to be warned by Coates that his job may be on the line if Stoke City do not earn good results during their upcoming two fixtures.
But despite the ultimatum, the Welshman has stated that he is not overly concerned about his future at the Bet365 Stadium.
"I think it's a statement of fact, two big games for us that we need to not only get results from, but it's performance wise as well," said Hughes.
"That was the thing at the weekend. Had we been beaten by Spurs, would it have been a catastrophe? No. That was the expectation before the game.
"But it was the manner of the defeat, that's what we're all hurting from. For whatever reason, Spurs are the one team who've always caused us a real problem. We changed it around, but that didn't work either. If it comes to a point, you have to take your medicine and accept the situation.
"You make sure you don't go under and embarrass yourself by the margin of defeat. You do that by being disciplined and sometimes we were guilty of trying to get a goal or a corner, but that's when you get stretched. That's what we're finding difficult to understand, we need sometimes to just shut the door."
