Stoke City boss Mark Hughes remains hopeful of signing Porto defender Bruno Martins Indi.

Stoke are still trying to bring in Martins Indi from Porto – although Hughes is consistent in updates regarding slow negotiations.

"We're in the same position," he told The Sentinel.

"We've got to bring more players in. I think we acknowledge that and we are actively trying to do that. At times you are at the mercy of the clubs they are still at and you can't really affect that."
