Stoke City boss Mark Hughes can see himself in Xherdan Shaqiri.
Hughes, who also played for Bayern Munich, wants to see Shaqiri push on and swell his goal tally much further after seeing him match last season's total of three from just five appearances this season.
Hughes, who knew a thing or two about stunning strikes, said: "When he does score they are usually top quality. I was never a great goalscorer, but a scorer of great goals, which is maybe what he is.
"The goal from the free-kick wasn't a surprise because that is the perfect angle and perfect distance and he practices that day-in and day-out, so we expected that one to go in.
"The other one, he should probably get more strikes on target from that area when he cuts in because clearly he's very strong on his left-hand side.
"It was a great first goal, exactly what we needed at that stage of the game. I under-estimated how good the first strike was, to be perfectly honest. I didn't realise how far out he was and it was great technique to get that much power from that distance.
"If he's not scoring he's having an impact in terms of his creativity, which is what we demand of him, his goals are a bonus."
