Stoke City boss Mark Hughes retains hope of signing permanently Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi.

Hughes is delighted with the impact of Assaidi in recent games

"Ossie is a Liverpool player and they hold the cards to be perfectly honest," says Hughes.

"We would like to be a good option for him and I think we are because he likes being here.

"We would like to make it happen, but we are only in the initial stages of discussion."
