Stoke boss Hughes remains hopeful over Liverpool's Assaidi

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is waiting for news from Liverpool over their plans for Oussama Assaidi.

Hughes hopes to extend Assaidi's stay after last season's successful loan.

"The ball is very much in Liverpool's court because he is their player," Hughes told The Sentinel, "and I'm not saying I know what they are thinking.

"But I would imagine that being in the Champions League they will spend more money this summer and that could go against Ossie having a place there."
