Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has dismissed a clash between Lee Grant and Erik Pieters after victory over Hull City.

Grant pursued Pieters after their initial exchange of words and shoved his team-mate before the incident eventually cooled down.

"If you are demanding of yourself and your team-mates," said Hughes, "that's what happens.

"I haven't got a problem with it at all. It's not something that's an issue within the group.

"I expect and demand that they challenge each other."
