Stoke City boss Mark Hughes remains hopeful of signing USA international striker Juan Agudelo.

Agudelo is off contract from MLS and New England Revolution and Hughes is still staying in contact with his camp after a failed work permit application earlier this season.

"I'm sure his advisers are looking at other options," he said. "We are still looking at options to resurrect it, but it's difficult once the work permit has been denied."
