Stoke boss Hughes insists no major overhaul planned

New Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is confident his transition will be smooth.

Hughes, 49, is adamant he will not be making any major changes to his managerial style, after succeeding the axed Tony Pulis.

He said: "I won't be changing anything specifically. I'm an experienced Premier League manager. And there are not that many in the Premier League this season, given all the ones that have left their positions.

"I know there aren't that many with as much experience as me and you learn when you are out of work as well as when you are in work.

"Everybody has their own philosophy of playing - Tony has his, I have mine. Nobody is right, nobody is wrong.

"It's about getting results on the field. Tony certainly did that for Stoke City during his period here.

"And it is my intention to get positives results as well.

"I may go about it in a different way but the end result is exactly the same - for Stoke to win football matches."
