Stoke boss Hughes happy include Dan Jarvis in training

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes was happy to include Dan Jarvis in first team training.

The 19-year-old playmaker from Lichfield was introduced to the first team party for the win over Hull last weekend, joining 18-year-old right-back Tom Edwards to sample the routine of a Premier League Saturday after impressing with the under-23s.

"Will we see a youth teamer before the end of this season? Hopefully," said Hughes.

He also told The Sentinel: "We were down on numbers in fairness for the squad against Hull but we will always try to push players who are doing well with the youth team.

"Dan Jarvis has shown up really well when he's come up to the senior squad and this was the first time he had been involved around the squad on a match day, giving him that experience even if he didn't get on the bench. It's important for his development so it's not a surprise to him when it happens again in the future which I'm sure it will."
