Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has defended the dodgy league record of Marko Arnautovic.
Arnautovic was labelled Europe's most unsuccessful footballer in 2013 by the German press.
Hughes said: "Obviously they seem to have a cross to bear with Marko, maybe that's the reason he wanted to leave Germany, for a better crack of the whip.
"I think in the Premier League you need players who do something that little bit different.
"Almost every team has an individual that can change a game for you, and he's certainly one of those players.
"He's an accomplished player and will make us better. I always think it's more difficult for foreign players to come to this country if they are an attacking player rather than a defender or midfielder because all the focus is on them to change the game for you."
