Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has dismissed reports over the reason for a furious bust-up between Ryan Shawcross and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie on Saturday.
Hughes doubted newspaper reports earlier today that Shawcross scuffled with Van Persie at Old Trafford because of the old Stoke v Arsenal feud caused by Shawcross breaking Aaron Ramsey's leg three-and-a-half years ago.
"I don't think that was the reason there was an incident, " said Hughes.
"But I haven't discussed it with Ryan, so I can't enlighten you."
