Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has offered his advice to Tottenham star Gareth Bale over his imminent move to Real Madrid.
Hughes admits he was immature when he left England for Spain to play for Barcelona in his early 20s.
Hughes, commenting on Bale's impending move to Real Madrid, said: "I went with the wrong mentality of thinking 'I will have a couple of years here and then go back'.
"I was a young player and a young man and wasn't mature enough to cope with going from Manchester United to Barcelona. You have to embrace the language and the country when you get there."
