Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has defended Charlie Adam ahead of their clash with Tottenham.
Hughes claimed critics are trying to paint him as a pantomime villain.
Asked if Adam was becoming a pantomime villain, Hughes said: "There's a little bit of that going on which is unfortunate because there's a lot more to Charlie than people try to paint.
"He's an accomplished footballer and he's had a good season. We would like people to concentrate on that, but not everyone does."
