Stoke City boss Mark Hughes says Joe Allen has settled quickly since his arrival from Liverpool.

Hughes says 26-year-old Allen, a £13m signing from Liverpool who has signed a five-year contract, has been settling in quickly.

“We're really pleased to have Joe with us," said the manager.

“He's only just got back from the Euros, he's only had two weeks off so it's a quick turnaround.

“He's an outstanding player and we think he's going to be a real asset for us for the next few years."
