Stoke boss Hughes aims to hand new signings Gladbach chance

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is ready to give his new signings a debut this weekend.

Hughes intends giving at least 45 minutes to Mame Diouf, Steve Sidwell, Phil Bardsley and Donatan Teixeira against Borussia Monchengladbach on Sunday.

"We haven't got that much time remaining until our first pre-season game against a quality side who, by all accounts, have been training for a couple of weeks already," he said.

"We've got to make sure that condition-wise our lads are at a decent level and can cope with 45 minutes in the Borussia game.

"That gives us the option of giving almost all the squad at least 45 minutes."
