Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is furious with the three-match ban for Charlie Adam this week.
Adam misses the trip to Norwich City after being found guilty of violent conduct following an incident in which he trod on Olivier Giroud's leg during last weekend's 1-0 win over Arsenal.
"The annoying thing is," said Hughes this afternoon, "we can never question a referee's integrity - and we wouldn't - but when you get the written report back they question the integrity of my player. They can't have it two ways.
"I think top of the bottom of it the process is fundamentally flawed. If the game was reviewed by the people who were actually there on the day immediately after the game by video you could accept any decision.
"Maybe there was something to be investigated on the day because they knew the context of the game.
"But it was trial by media as by the time the decision was made on the Wednesday the agenda was already set."
