Stoke City have opened talks for USA international striker Juan Agudelo.

The Daily Mail says Stoke are in talks over a deal for Agudelo.

Manager Mark Hughes has monitored the 20-year-old since he was boss at Manchester City and spoke with Agudelo at a meeting in Philadelphia this week.

Chief executive Tony Scholes was also in Philadelphia to kick-start negotiations with the MLS and Stoke hope a deal can be agreed next week.
