Stoke admit deal unlikely for Middlesbrough's Riggott

Stoke City boss Tony Pulis admits they're unlikely to sign Middlesbrough defender Chris Riggott.

Riggott spent just under two months on loan at the Britannia Stadium before being recalled for Boro's final two games of the season.

The 27-year-old was a popular figure at the Potters but Pulis admits he has had no contact with Boro counterpart Gareth Southgate about the possibility of striking up a deal.

"I've had no contact with Gareth and I think Middlesbrough would have been on to us by now if anything was going to happen," Pulis told The Sentinel.

"It certainly seems as though we breathed some new life into him."
