Stoke City chief John Rudge admits the August 31 transfer deadline for Premiership clubs has changed their plans.

"Yes, that does make a difference compared to years gone by," Rudge acknowledged.

"But you'll be surprised how quickly the market starts moving once the bigger clubs really start spending."
