Charlie Adam insists that his wonder goal against Chelsea is not the sole reason behind his return to the Scottish national team.
Adam managed to grab headlines all around the world following his wonderful 60-yard strike against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge late last season and since the goal, things have become a little rosier for the midfielder.
The goal coincided with Adam earning a recall to the Scottish national team for the first time since March 2014 but the midfielder has stated that rather than just the wonder strike, it has been his overall form in the last few weeks of the season which has seen him return to the international fold.
"I wouldn't say that goal has got me back into the national team but, listen, it gives you the profile," he said.
"I scored another four before the end of the season and the thing is I am in a Stoke team that is playing well in a top league. I played in the last 10 or 12 games and I must have played well enough when he (Strachan) was watching."
