The Potters hit the lead through Ricardo Fuller who stabbed home in the 56th minute before Kenwyne Jones confirmed the victory when he pounced on a Steven Gerrard error to slide past Pepe Reina in the 90th minute.

The loss was compounded with the sending off of Lucas who received his second yellow of the match moments later.

Stoke went four points clear of bottom two, Wolves and West Ham, whilst Liverpool’s mini-revival was halted as they dropped to 10th.
