Stockport chief executive quits as two new directors appointed

Stockport have appointed Ken Graham and Mike Clark to the board of directors, while Sean Connolly has quit his role. Graham and Clark who have both been involved with the Edgeley Park outfit since 2001 but chief executive Connolly has quit following the club's takeover in the summer.

He said: "I came to Stockport with the objective of saving the club from extinction.

"I feel I have contributed strongly in getting the club back on its feet and helping to leave it in a position to push forward from here."

County chairman Alwin Thompson said: "I'm extremely grateful to Sean for all his hard work and assistance in helping to acquire the club from administration."
