Manchester United have launched their new kit with Wayne Rooney headlining the promotion. Rooney was yesterday unveiled in United's Nike home strip for next season. Despite having asked to leave the club twice in three years, he remains one of their most marketable players.
And that is why Nike and United have used him to push sales of the new kit, which is on sale from today.
How much longer Rooney, 27, continues to wear it remains to be seen.
New manager David Moyes is on holiday and still to decide on Rooney's future.
He was booed when he accepted his title-winning medal and also received stick during the club's victory bus parade, says The Sun.
Many in the United hierarchy reckon this could be the time to cash in at £25million, believing they have had the best from him.
