Steve Caulker confident of long-term Tottenham future

Bristol City defender Steve Caulker is confident of his long-term future with parent club Tottenham.

Although Caulker's immediate priority is to help City move clear of relegation trouble and stake a claim for a place in the top half of the table, his thoughts frequently return to White Hart Lane.

"I'm not just saying it because I think I should, but I really do believe I have a long-term future at Tottenham," said Caulker.

"Whenever I go back there, Harry Redknapp always asks me how I'm doing at Bristol City and he seems to take an interest in me.

"I usually go back to London to train on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I'm still involved with the first-team squad.

"Whenever I play for City, Tottenham send someone to watch me, usually Tim Sherwood, whose job it is to monitor my progress. They wouldn't be doing that if they didn't think I was going to make it in the Premier League."
