Raheem Sterling says there were enough positive signs from Wednesday night's performance for Manchester City to take heart.
The Premier League leaders lost 4-0 to Barcelona in the Champions League at the Nou Camp in a match which saw Claudio Bravo sent off for the visitors while Jeremy Mathieu also received his marching orders for the home side.
Winger Sterling believes Pep Guardiola's City played well enough at times but were ultimately undone by simple mistakes which will need to be erased from their game.
He said: "It's a credit to the boys, we tried to play football like the manager wanted us to.
"We made a few mistakes but we've got to go again, we know we are a good team and we know exactly what we can do, and we'll continue trying to play out from the back and continue trying to do things because it is working and we gave them a good game today."
