Socceroos striker Mile Sterjovski started in Derby County's 1-1 draw with Southampton in the English Championship overnight.

Since Nigel Clough took over as manager of the Rams, Sterjovski has enjoyed more regular first team football and managed 63 minutes against the Saints at St Mary's Stadium.

Southampton went ahead through defender Chris Perry in the 53rd minute but his goal was cancelled out seven minutes from time through Derby's Rob Hulse.

The point keeps the Rams in 16th position on the table, seven points above the relegation zone whilst Southampton find themselves in a precarious position in 23rd place, deep in the drop zone.
