Stephen Darby admits he's delighted with his progress this season at Liverpool.
Along with Jay Spearing and Martin Kelly, fullback Darby made his European debut for the club during last week's Champions League clash in Holland, and admitted it was a proud moment for the trio.
"It was a great night for me, Jay and Martin and it's something I'll never forget," Darby told Liverpoolfc.tv. "I have known these lads since we were nine years of age at the Academy and we are also the best of mates.
"It was really special to share it with them and hopefully we will have more memories in the future. It's always good to see the home grown players come through and it was such a great night for us.
"Playing in the first team is something you dream of as a little boy and hopefully I'll be given another chance soon. You just have to keep level headed and keep working hard."
For Darby, the year 2008 is one he will always cherish after also captaining the reserve team to a fantastic treble.
"Personally this has been a really good year and a good season for me so far," he added. "I made my first team debut against Tottenham in the Carling Cup which is a night that I will remember for the rest of my life.
"In the first half we were second to everything but we showed a bit of character in the second half. I got on the field for the last 10 minutes which was a proud moment for me and my family.
"It's been a great year making my first team debut and winning three trophies with the reserves last year, but it's time to forget about that now and keep working hard and progressing."
