Stephan El Shaarawy is happy over his move to Roma.

The striker left Monaco in January to sign for Roma.

“Roma was the right choice," El Shaarawy told Alain.

“It's true that when they contacted me I wasn't at my best, but the sporting director [Walter] Sabatini had a key role in closing the deal.

“He had full confidence in me. With the fans I was lucky, right from the start I had a good game and I scored the winning goal. I couldn't have wished for a better start.

“When I came here I already knew [Alessandro] Florenzi and [Daniele] De Rossi from the national team, so that helped me to adapt at first.

“Then I got a chance to get to know Francesco Totti: he's incredible."
