Steinsson: Wigan clash huge for Bolton chances

Gretar Steinsson says Bolton Wanderers' clash with Wigan Athletic is a huge game for their survival hopes.

Bolton head to neighbours Wigan on Monday knowing they have to maintain the momentum which has brought them four points from their last two matches.

"We have worked hard, been more focused as a team and we have used our chances better," said Steinsson of the team's improved results.

"We should have done better against City but against West Ham it was fully deserved.

"Wigan on Monday is a massive game for us. They have a fantastic young manager, some good players and have been playing some really good football.

"They have been unfortunate - the same as us - but in a local derby everything is possible."

And despite all their main rivals having a chance to gain an early advantage over the weekend, Steinsson is more than happy to be playing after everyone else.

"You can get the extra rest after the last two games and really get your head down and work on the things we need to work on," added the 27-year-old right-back.
