Steaua Bucharest defender Vlad Chiriches expects to sign for Tottenham today.
The 23-year-old almost completed his move to the Premier League club earlier this summer but was faced with missing out after negotiations stumbled, before being put back on track, much to his relief.
He told DigiSport TV: "I had a hard time after the first round of negotiations failed, I even cried. I was upset for two days.
"I hope there won't be too much difference between the level of the Premier League and the level at which I have played.
"The most memorable moment of my career at Steaua was the winning of the championship, something I had dreamt of all my life.
"I hope I will be able to make my mark in England too."
