Republic of Ireland boss Steve Staunton believes Liam Miller can fulfill his potential at Sunderland.
"He did okay at Manchester United when he was given a chance, and he has got back into the Sunderland side the last couple of games.
"He did well Sunday, but prior to that - according to reports - he was getting back into the swing of things.
"It's going to take a while for him, but we need him playing regularly.
"He is at a good age, and the more games he plays for Sunderland then the better for everyone."
