Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo stands alongside Eusebio as one of Portugal's greats.

Respected statisticians in Portugal believe that his strike against Tottenham was the 100th goal of Ronaldo's professional career, in what was his 300th game since he left his home in Madeira as a 15-year-old to join Sporting Lisbon.

The tally includes only official games for Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United and Portugal, and now stands at 301 games, 102 goals.

Ronaldo, 23, has achieved the 'ton' at the same age as his most famous footballing countryman, Eusebio, and his record towers over Portugal's most recent icon, Luis Figo.

When he turned 23, Figo had played 181 official games and had scored 25 goals.
